Horticulture is the art, science, and business of all things plants. Our horticulture club was started in 2014 with a core group of dedicated students who enthusiastically turned our greenhouse storage room into a true working greenhouse. We propagated desk plants, put in a school garden, and raised seedlings for the QO community with the help of our PTSA grant. Our first year of horticulture class was launched in the fall of 2015 and continues to reach 50-60 students a year.
The horticulture program at QO consists of a class component and a club component.
Club - All students are welcome to join our club. We meet every other Wednesday at lunch in the greenhouse located on the third floor overlooking the bus lanes. The club is responsible for after school events or activities. Contact our officers through social media below or email:

Class - All students who have had biology are welcome to enroll in the class. Spaces are limited. We have a semester A course and a semester B course. While it is beneficial to take both, either one may be taken independently. The class counts as a science elective and is not considered honors. Contact your counselor if you are interested or Ms. Bewernitz for more information. [email protected]
